: Warning for individual consumers’ handling of Lithium ion Battery Cell

Lithium ion Battery Cell is an industrial component part that must be used in a battery pack with protective circuitry*, and LG Energy Solution does not sell it through e-commerce, such as online marketplace, for use by individual consumers

Lithium ion Battery Cell contains intensive energy. Misuse or mishandling of Lithium ion Battery Cell can cause fire or explosion, resulting in severe injuries or property damage.

*Protective circuitry : A component part assembled -outside of Lithium ion Battery Cell to protect it from abnormal conditions, such as over-charge, over-discharge, overcurrent, and overheating.

Important Safety Warning

    Use of Lithium ion Battery Cell by individual customer can cause fire or explosion, and LG Energy Solution is not responsible for any injury or property damage related to or resulted from such use.

    Do not use LG Energy Solution’s Lithium ion Battery Cell as a stand-alone, removable, consumer-replaceable power source for electrical device, including e-cigarettes, lanterns or other products.

    Do not damage Protective circuitry or Lithium ion Battery Cell. Do not remove Lithium ion Battery Cell from Battery Pack.

    LG Energy Solution does not distribute or sell Lithium ion Battery Cell through e-commerce, including online marketplace. Do not purchase LG Energy Solution’s Lithium ion Battery Cells sold on e-commerce to use or re-sell for any reason.


  1. 1. LG Energy Solution’s Lithium ion Battery Cell is an industrial component part, and it is not intended to be sold to or used by individual consumers. It is only intended for sale to or use by sophisticated manufacturers for products that incorporate necessary safety systems designed to protect individual consumers from the known severe risks of fire and explosion associated with the misuse of Lithium ion Battery Cells. Likewise, LG Energy Solution has not:
  2. authorized the use of its Lithium ion Battery Cells by manufacturers for any products, including e-cigarettes or lanterns, which use individual Lithium ion Battery Cells as replaceable or rechargeable power source;
  3. authorized any retailer, distributor, or e-commerce websites to market and sell its individual Lithium ion Battery Cells for use in e-cigarettes or other vape products that use individual Lithium ion Battery Cells as replaceable and rechargeable power source; and/or
  4. authorized any third party to recommend the use of LG Energy Solution’s Lithium ion Battery Cells for e-cigarettes or other vape products that use individual Lithium ion Battery Cells as replaceable and rechargeable power source.

Guide for Disposal of Lithium ion Battery Cell

According to Extended Producer Responsibility (“EPR”), Lithium ion Battery Cell, Pack and electrical appliances containing Lithium ion Battery Cell must be properly processed and recycled by original manufacturers.

Therefore, if an individual consumer have happened to possess a Lithium ion Battery Cell or Pack which has no protective circuitry or damaged circuitry, or whose warranty has been expired, please do not charge or use it, and return it to the manufacturer of the product pursuant to the following guide.

  1. Do insulate the positive and negative terminals of Lithium ion Battery Cells with tape to prevent from contacting with other metals.
  2. Do not store Lithium ion Battery Cells in bags, drawers, or boxes with other items, or with other batteries.
  3. Do not store Lithium ion Battery Cells in bags, drawers, or boxes with other items, or with other batteries.
  4. Lithium ion Battery Cells or Packs shall be disposed separately from general garbage.
    Do not dispose Lithium ion Battery Cells or Packs in fire.
